Q&A with Adulthood and Dr Who star Noel Clarke

By Richard Mooney

NOEL Clarke is one of three British actors nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

The Dr Who star will be up against four other actors in the only BAFTA category that is decided by public vote

Noel will be competing against, Michael Cera (Juno), Michael Fassbender (Hunger), Toby Kebbell (Rock n Rolla) and Rebecca Hall (Frost/Nixon).

After being nominated for the BAFTA gong we got the chance to speak to Adulthood writer and Dr Who star Noel Clarke.

How does it feel to be nominated for an orange rising star award?

Its amazing to be nominated for the Risiting Star award. I couldnt have asked for a better start to the year."

With the critical and commercial success of Adulthood and Kidulthood, do you think you stand a good chance of winning?

I really dont know. The other nominees have been in massive movies and all my films have been UK based. I think I have an equal chance as the rest of them, but hopefully my fans will come out and support me.

Do you think youd ever do a sequel to Adulthood?

I dont think so. I think weve kinda done those films. But you never know, if the Adulthood fans all come out and support me, maybe Ill do a third one for them .

What do you make of the new Dr Who, Matt Smith?

I think hes great, I dont know him personally but I think hes a fresh face, someone who is both new and exciting and I reckon he is going to do a brilliant job.

Whats your plans for the rest of the year?

Im appearing in two films, Heartless and Doghouse. Obviously Im writing my own movies later in the year aswell.
