For many bars a re-vamp is nothing more than a new name, a lick of paint and a few new seat-covers. But not here.
Of course if you'd ever been to Aberdeen's Wodka Bar you'd understand just why such a dramatic change was needed.
Dark, dank and dingy in its former incarnation, The Wodka Bar, so called because of its amazing array of flavoured vodka shots, was legendary for its cramped interior and corrugated iron walls.
Granted, it was never at a loss for customers, but the majority of them would come in, down one of the bar's famous flavoured shots, and then leave again.
But say goodbye to those dark days - enter the new and improved Siberia, complete with spacious surroundings, brightly painted walls, and a dozen comfy sofas.
Gone is the dark narrow hall that led you to the dark narrow bar, forgotten are the few small tables that once stood awkwardly at the side, lost is that awkward split-level layout and hidden step that made fools of so many of us.
Bigger, better and brighter, the bar has been given a much needed new lease of life - and one that is set to see it become one of Aberdeen's hottest nightspots.
Major renovations have seen the bar double in size with the addition of a new lounge-style level and an outdoor veranda which, although impressive, isn't recommended in January.
