Hell may freeze over before you ladies out there take advice from a man on antidotes for watching the football.
And Scotland might win the World Cup before your average footie fan advocates nipping down the hairdresser for a bevvy with the boys.
But times have changed. Or at least they have in the leafy west end of Glasgow, where life is commonly looked at through an alternative lens.
So much so that we can't promise that the Hyndland bistro/shop/hair and beauty salon that is Eden will be a true respite from this summer's European Championships.
Who's to say there won't be a glamorous gaggle of girls swanning off to get their hair done, have a massage and top it all off with an afternoon of white wine and analysis of the Portuguese side's samba style?
Or hairdressers bodyswerving the usual prattle about summer holidays for a blether about whether new Rangers signing Dada Prso has what it takes to succeed at Ibrox?
Or am just kidding myself here? As a bar in the basement of a hairdressers, it's odds on that Eves will outnumber Adams here. And, really, the chat's not likely to be about Euro 2004.
So yes, girls, Eden's about the only garden this summer where you'll escape kids kidding on they're Henrik Larsson or Luis Figo.
Located in a former Bank of Scotland building opposite the wee stretch of shops in the middle of Hyndland Road, Eden's bistro is just what the current crop of Cutting It fans are crying out for.
It's a place to go with their girly mates, get their hair styled, wallow in an enzymatic sea mudpack, have lunch, down a French Martini or two and sharpen their claws for an afternoon of alcohol-induced bitching. Heck, it'll maybe even suit some of the boys, too.
Two weeks before visiting, I met a friend of a friend who was nearing the end of a wine-soaked day which kicked off when her hairdresser asked if she wanted tea or coffee.
Her jokey reply of 'something a bit stronger' was duly seen to as she relaxed back into her chair with something that wasn't mineral water either. Seems it's the same for boys beer comes free with a change of barnet.
When eventually did drop by, for some after-work wine and tapas, Eden was quiet. The salon was closed, although it opens late on Thursdays and Fridays, and there was a young trendy family sitting in one of the comfy booths.
And the music's not bad too, merging typical salon sounds such as Zero 7 and Cafe Del Mar with harder-edged stuff from the likes of American rocker Ryan Adams.
As Euro 2004 beckons and football widows plan how to snatch an episode of Coronation Street in between games, there's at least one place out there beckoning women with its forbidden fruit of self-indulgence. Tempted?
