As honorary chairman David Murray is all too aware, Rangers have had a poor season.
But while Murray Snr is probably not the chirpiest of bunnies at the moment, his son, Keith, has plenty to smile about.
He already runs Cosmo, a swanky Edinburgh Italian restaurant that's said to be a big favourite with Hollywood legend Sean Connery.
Early last year, Keith opened Halo a trendy little bar that's put a bit of buzz back into Edinburgh's West End.
The latest addition to his empire is the Circus Cafe in the capital's Stockbridge area.
More than just a bar, the place does food ranging from snacks to three-course meals and also boasts a luxury foodhall in the basement below.
Slightly disappointingly, the name comes from the bar's address on North West Circus Place rather than any kind of big-top theme.
That is a shame because it would be quite fun to have a bar where the cocktail staff dressed as lion tamers and drinks were swung on to your table by beautiful, death-defying trapeze artists in spangly leotards.
But enough of my gaudy fantasies, because they are far too tasteless to get through the door in Circus Cafe. This joint has class and looks to match.
It used to be a bank and the ghost of financial years past still lingers in the high ceilings and dark-wood fixtures and fittings. Factor in chandeliers, waiting staff in black-and-white shirts and aprons, the hiss of the coffee machine and the only thing preventing customers from imagining they are in a Parisian cafe is an absence of billowing clouds of Gauloise smoke.
If possible, try to get a table in one of the window booths on the mezzanine. Not only does this give you a great view of all the other customers, but it also allows you to watch the action on the street outside. Actually, since we are in Stockbridge, action is over-stating the case.
It's too trendy to be Morningside, but it is still pretty pukka here. The nearest thing to a drama on the mean streets of Stockie is when someone's pet Pekinese fouls the pavement and its owner pretends not to notice.
That sort of thing can get you in hot water with the residents' association around these parts. Three strikes and you might be barred from the coffee morning committee. The point is, not many people around here are counting their pennies and Circus Cafe reflects that.
It's not the sort of place to do a bucket of booze for a fiver.
But they have an early evening offer, where you can choose a bottle of wine from the food hall and drink it in the bar without paying a corkage fee.
Most bars charge £10-£12 for a bottle of boring house wine that would unblock drains. For the same money at Circus, you can try something superior.
While the rest of the drinks are not a bargain, they are not overly expensive either. A pint of Budvar is under three quid and most of the cocktails well made using premium spirits and fresh juices come in at around a fiver a belt.
Circus Cafe is a smart and even an elegant place. You wouldn't go there to paint the town red but it's good for a few drinks and a round of gossip in a stylish setting.
If you were looking to impress a date with your suave charm, handsome looks and good taste, this would be a good place to begin the illusion.
Along with Cosmo and Halo, you could say Circus Cafe makes a hat-trick for Keith Murray and that's something his dad might must wish he'd seen more of of this season.
